Free income tax filing assistance at Cal State LA through Apr. 11

Cal State LA VITA to also offer free electronic filing services to the local community

What:  The Cal State LA VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program is offering free income-tax preparation services every Saturday through April 11 to individuals who make $53,000 or less and need assistance preparing and filing tax returns. Taxpayers also have an option to prepare their own basic federal and state tax return for free using online tax preparation software that will be made available.

When:  The services will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Appointments are not necessary.

Background:  Since 1998, the Internal Revenue Service and Cal State L.A. faculty have trained Cal State L.A. accounting students to make a difference in their communities as part of the VITA program and participate in an excellent service-learning project.
